Friday, March 20, Robert, Christopher, my mom and I got to attend the Draper Temple dedication. I hurried home after Matthew's walking report card, quickly got ready, took Amberly over to my parents home, fed her, and put her down for a nap. I crossed my fingers that she would last until we got back.
The temple dedication was not until 2 p.m., but we had to be at the chapel to catch the bus at 11:30 a.m. Can I just tell you how frustrating that is when you have a nursing baby.
My dad kept the other kids with him because he had no desire to sit and stand and wait for 3 hours. If you know my dad you are probably laughing right now because that is totally how he is. So he got babysitting duty.
We were the very last people on the bus up to the temple. I was glad too, because I would have been really upset if I had waited any longer. As it was, we waited in our designated chapel for about 15 minutes and then got on the bus. Then they took us up to the stake center next to the temple and we waited approxiamately 45-60 minutes there. Then they took us through the tunnels and we had to put on the shoe covers. We ended up waiting in the tunnel for another 45 minutes. Then we finally made it into the temple. I was a little anxious as to where we would be sitting. But once we got in to the temple there were plenty of places to sit and have a good view of a monitor.
We were ushered to seats just outside the celestial room. I was perfectly content. But after a few minutes sitting there we were invited to go sit in the celestial room. It was pretty neat. There were probably about 100 people in the room and we were on the second to last row. But there we were in the celestial room with the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson and President Uchtdorf, and Elder Perry.
It was a neat experience. Christopher enjoyed it up until about halfway through the actual dedication. It had a been a long day and it was crowded and warm in the room. He couldn't see a whole lot either. When we sang "The Spirit of God" he said he could really feel the Spirit. He was a real trooper. Even I was having a tough time hanging in there.
Afterward, we headed straight back home. Amberly did just fine and our timing was perfect. I think we got home about 4:30.
What a special experience to be there and to have the special priviledge of being in the celestial room with the prophet. I hope Christopher will always remember it.

Wow!!!! Jenny, what a wonderful, testimony building that experience must have been for Christopher, in spite of the wait. He was able to be in the Celestial Room of a temple, the very same room as the prophet, and in the place where Christ is to dedicate His temple.
