New Family Room

The first week of April, we had wood floors installed in our family room. We searched most of March for the right wood flooring. We ended up doing exactly what one of our neighbors (Clarke and Elissa Etherington) did. We got a pretty solid wood called Autumn Maple from National Wood product. The store hooked us up with a great installer and within a week we had a whole new family room.

Back in March, we had picked out a couch sectional at Sofa Mart (which I have been waiting two years to come to Draper!!). The floor installer finished on Friday, April 10 and we painted that night and Saturday morning. I always love doing projects with Robert because we have such good conversations and it makes me feel so connected to him.

By Easter Sunday, I had a whole new family room. Of course, I was beyond exhausted, but I did have a fantastic new place to be sit and be wiped out!

Now, I need to find the time and creativity to add the finishing touches. We want to get a wood mantle installed over the fireplace and I need some cornice boxes or something over the windows. A trip to Tai Pan decorating store wouldn't hurt either, a rug for the floor, candles over the mantle, etc.

I must say, though, it gives a whole different feel to our home. So much fun! Note: the paint spots on the fireplace will be going away, hopefully soon, just a little miscommunication during painting.
