January Blues

So we are done with the holidays. The decorations are all put away. I must say, it was rewarding to get that done. I even organized the storage room in the process!

Kids are back to school, life resumes. It is nice to be back to the normal schedule. Of course, there has been plenty of illness. Matthew stayed home a day or two with a sore throat.

I took Amberly to her 6 month doctor's visit last week and she weighed in at 19 lbs 10 oz and 27 inches tall. She is in the 94 percentile across the board. Definitely doesn't take after me.

She is sick too, the doctor discovered very pussy double ear infections. You would never know it as she smiles and coos during the entire visit.

She went on antibiotics, but they didn't work so we went back yesterday for more antibiotics (she weighed in at 19 lbs 15 oz- I can't believe how she can put on the weight!). I figured out that she consistently has put on 1/2 lb every week since she was born! As long as it is her and not me, I am good with it!

Our doctor visit, yesterday was prompted by Joshua's run-in with the wall on Tuesday night. I should have taken him in for stitches to his ear on Tuesday night, but I just couldn't bear the thought of going in again for stitches. The doctor seemed to think it will be okay, but could have at leasted been "glued" on Tuesday night. I hope it heals nicely. I will feel really badly if he has an ugly scar on his ear because I was too tired to take him to the doctors!

I can't win with these boys. There is always some injury. Let's recap:
June- Joshua got 7 staples in the back of his head

October- Ethan ran into the front step with his bike and injured his nose-even the doctor thought it was broken

November- Ethan broke his wrist after letting Christopher "catapult" him

December- Joshua hits head on the corner of a desk while rough housing with brothers (didn't go for stitches on that one, but probably could have)

January- Joshua reacts to Ethan kicking at him- note Ethan never touched him and hits his ear on the corner of the wall.

I think we are going to have a no touching, no looking at, no talking to each other policy from now on. Everyone will just have no interaction with each other at all and they can't play or anything! I don't know how else to avoid the trips to the doctor.

It is a good thing I can laugh at all this!

Good grief, you've had more than your fair share of Dr visits!

What an adorable pudge Amberly is!!! And long too. Isaac was 20 lbs at his 6 month check-up a few weeks ago. Aren't chubby babies grand! :)
